This contest is similar to the X-games and Maloof Money cup but its run by skateboarders.  The line up of pros that are going to be competing is insane as well as the course. This is going to be a rad event forsure.

Basically, he has put out some of the gnarliest video parts out in his career and its time for him to just enjoy life and not stress out about filming.  ”I am sick of hating skateboarding, and that’s what all this filming was coming down to.” (Heath Kirchart)

Growing up, Heath has always been one of my favorite skaters. I remember watching the old birdhouse ” Ravers” video and you could even tell back then when heath was super little that he was going to be rad.  After getting the Foundation “Rolling Thunder” video for Christmas was I was 10 years old,  I knew that there was something super special about this guy. He had like this I don’t care about skateboarding attitude but totally skated better than anyone I have ever seen.

Its sad to see him go and its definitely an end of an era.  Skateboarding won’t be the same without knowing he is out there struggling to do a trick down some gnarly hubba and almost killing himself for everyone else’s enjoyment. Heath you will be greatly missed.

Ok so the standard version of Stay Gold landed at the shop earlier today but we were under strict orders from EMERICA to not put them in the case until we open up tomorrow morning.  So tomorrow morning at 11am you will be able to buy the DVD.

On another note, the DVD came out for some reason on itunes today. Don’t buy that version because it has no bonus features!! Also, the itunes version doesnt have the secret parts.

Ryan Reyes is one of our dear friends and our shops favorite skater. Ryan has been everywhere lately!! He just got back from an Ipath tour, killed it at the Coastal Carnage Contest in HB, and it seems like he has a photo in evey new mag that comes out.   Kids take note, this is how you should skateboard.
